In August 2014, HFA lead the first community response to the aftermath of hurricane Iselle striking Hawaii Island. While the hurricane was quickly downgraded to a tropical storm, thousands of residents were left without power with some neighborhoods without power for several weeks. HFA was supported by the Hawaii National Guard who sent a group of soldiers to direct the traffic and crowds as HFA handed out fresh eggs, bread, bottled water, and ice to those in need.
